Here's another YouTube video for you guys! Hope you find this review useful :)</div>

As promised in the video, I've provided close-up photos of the damage to the shoes, that is the buckles that broke off and got lost + the scuffing after 3 hours of wear. (The color of the shoes is most accurate in the video, not in the following pictures)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Well, I got over my video shyness and bit the bullet. I've recorded my very first YouTube video! It's a YouTube/Tumblr/Blogging parody using the melody from Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid. If you're heavily into internet usage, I'm sure you'll get plenty of these references haha.<br />
<br />
If you like this video, it'd mean a lot to me if you liked/commented/subscribed <img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKhLCZhZ17wnuWXAfVHy2Ff-X-omyLehehVPypj86b8zKedtZJr4IiXmN-2ZJ1k8W3Kdov3CNRwC7vw-PEpIHREgMQBHsR-kTtvBTBawy2BQWQTf3B3W575o_aGHFV8C61eBsxq00zVccc/s1600/tumblr_inline_ne2m1bmXek1rco3mq.gif" style="text-align: center;" /> I'll be doing more ukulele vids in the future as well as crafting and sweet lolita videos.<br />
<br />
Have a sweet day! <img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgU9iyYo98pQTqfHRFe_cLhk1V6MYWB6ousEjOj52LSTeRORNfiJWAYPNaR4fXugvzpmROUe734WoBDLjtTcXzrDkxsNcFZQoEro7Dt39LzaSapV7wwwcKfPKTtKZztka2o3D6rsGW61eR_/s1600/2822964f595au0dla.gif" style="text-align: center;" />Alekshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01808447594863206110noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1147846744674937175.post-20388176048876793962015-03-11T12:33:00.000-04:002015-03-11T12:49:56.535-04:00Big Hero 6 Baymax Brooch!As soon as I saw the trailers for Big Hero 6, I <i>knew</i> I'd fall in love with the film. I saw it when it came out and, sure enough, I loooooved it! The story was touching, the animation was beautiful and Baymax has to be the cutest Pixar character <b>ever</b>. I knew right away I wanted to make something with Baymax on it, especially after <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2245084/awards" target="_blank">all the awards the film has recently won</a>.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://41.media.tumblr.com/f7d5a4bfc8170b61b24b544017fbf6ff/tumblr_nkpud5Fgni1qaa70oo1_500.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://41.media.tumblr.com/f7d5a4bfc8170b61b24b544017fbf6ff/tumblr_nkpud5Fgni1qaa70oo1_500.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My inspiration! Anybody know who made this???</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
While looking for Baymax plushies on Google, I stumbled upon this super cute image (sadly without any credit anywhere!) The plushie with the blush on it convinced me that I had to make a kawaii blushy Baymax!<br />
<br />
Without further ado, here is my blushing Baymax brooch!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://36.media.tumblr.com/76e6f384d477fe15ff49fb0c7eb1b358/tumblr_nl23xbDBWj1qaa70oo2_540.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://36.media.tumblr.com/76e6f384d477fe15ff49fb0c7eb1b358/tumblr_nl23xbDBWj1qaa70oo2_540.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
I wanted to make it extra cute by adding ruffles around it and a little bow. 2 people have told me so far that he looks like he's wearing a bonnet so I'm going to call him Baby Baymax!<br />
<br />
I used a variation of <a href="http://wildolive.blogspot.com/2015/01/how-to-make-fabric-yoyos.html" target="_blank">this tutorial by Wild Olive</a> to make the ruffle part (called a yoyo) with pink chiffon. His face was made with stiff white glitter felt and details were embroidered on. The blush was done with... well blush!<br />
<br />
The brooch was such a quick project (around 2 hours or less) and it's perfect for me to wear with my lolita coords or to add a little cuteness on my jackets since it's still kind of cold.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://36.media.tumblr.com/5f7147f4b83cd4591046c17341c36e81/tumblr_nl22larBJs1qaa70oo1_1280.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://36.media.tumblr.com/5f7147f4b83cd4591046c17341c36e81/tumblr_nl22larBJs1qaa70oo1_1280.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I still have to find a pin for it though. Anybody know where I can find 2-way clips?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://41.media.tumblr.com/01429303a03164d9a3e77d5a0e9a42c1/tumblr_nl23xbDBWj1qaa70oo1_540.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://41.media.tumblr.com/01429303a03164d9a3e77d5a0e9a42c1/tumblr_nl23xbDBWj1qaa70oo1_540.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />
His face came out a teeny bit wonky but I think he's still cute! Maybe I'll try to remake him one day.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" src="https://40.media.tumblr.com/fb15ee938b25bbc2b3fcaa26e2928924/tumblr_nknliyGV791qaa70oo1_1280.png" /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
When I get dressed up in lolita, I love listening to music specifically chosen for the occasion. When I'm dressed up I like music that makes me feel happy and confident and puts a smile on my face! This is the playlist I play on my phone when walking around in lolita.</div>
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="344" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/videoseries?list=PLpOYVGJN6Y4E4URsALyHaNYLi6wMS9k15" width="425"></iframe></div>
<br />
<img border="0" src="http://i.imgur.com/NBhR9Q2.gif" />There are super fun songs to make me laugh and bounce.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<img border="0" src="http://i.imgur.com/GFCqBie.gif" />There are also songs to put a bit of pep and sass in my step (a few k-pop hits for that purpose!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<img border="0" src="http://i.imgur.com/NBhR9Q2.gif" />And there are also some occasional sweet songs thrown in to match my sweet lolita style.</div>
<br />
Music is such a strong mood setter so I imagine everyone must have songs or playlists they play when they want to feel a certain way! But I wonder if any of you have music to suit your clothing styles? Maybe some alternative rock when you're dressing rocker chic or classical music when dressed up in... well classic lolita? <b>Anybody else do this too?</b>Alekshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01808447594863206110noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1147846744674937175.post-62597595023751639652015-02-24T17:30:00.000-05:002015-03-03T19:31:57.805-05:00LaceMarket Lessons: Things I've Learned from Buying Lolita Secondhand<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://40.media.tumblr.com/3260bafe89dbfa00eaa24eb48c529136/tumblr_nkal6ho68u1qaa70oo1_1280.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://40.media.tumblr.com/3260bafe89dbfa00eaa24eb48c529136/tumblr_nkal6ho68u1qaa70oo1_1280.png" /></a></div>
<br />
Buying secondhand is my favorite way of buying lolita. You can get great pieces at a fraction of the price and you get to help a fellow lolita out by taking pieces off their hands. Unfortunately, I've also gone through a few bad experiences (latest one involved receiving a very damaged Angelic Pretty skirt.) I want to pass on a few lessons I've learned the hard way so your future secondhand adventures go without a hitch!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">1. Ask sellers to be specific and ask for extra pictures when unsure</span></div>
</div>
<br />
A lot of sellers list their items in broad terms such as "gently worn" and "slightly damaged". Ask them what exactly they mean by their descriptions. The Angelic Pretty skirt I bought was listed as <i>slightly damaged. </i>What I received? A skirt with mysterious blue stains on 1/4 of the skirt! The stains do not come out. She had taken a single photo of a small section of the skirt. I should have asked her just how much of the skirt was stained and multiple pictures to prove it.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">2. Always ask about waist ties</span></div>
</div>
<br />
Sellers always forget them. They forget them in the pictures, they forget them in the packages and they even forget to tell you they don't have them! If you care about waist ties (like I do) please make sure to ask! My AP skirt (in addition to the stains) came without waist ties, a detail the seller left out.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">3. Always ask for tracking and insurance</span></div>
<br />
Yes, it'll cost you extra but you won't regret it. You'll know where your package is at all times and if it gets lost, you're covered for it. Seriously, do not skimp on this!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">4. Ask if they've washed the garments</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
A lot of people spend their entire lolita lives without washing their garments. You don't want to receive a dress that reeks of meetup B.O. If it's not washed and they're unwilling to do it, make sure the price is worth it and be prepared to wash it when you get it.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">5. Be wary of sellers with very little feedback</span></div>
</div>
<br />
I feel kinda bad saying this, but the only times I've had bad experiences has always been with extremely new sellers. I'd love to give them a chance to build feedback, but my wallet can't afford the risk anymore. New sellers tend to make a <b>lot</b> of mistakes in the whole process. This can involve problems with shipping, delays, and communication.<br />
<br />
I don't mean all new sellers are like this (I'm new to selling and haven't had problems). I'm also not saying you should 100% avoid them, but make sure to prepare for possible newbie mistakes. They can sometimes cost you extra money (especially if the seller refuses to take responsibility.)<br />
<br />
<b><span style="font-size: large;">Summary:</span></b> When in doubt, ask ask ask! Most problems can be avoided by asking questions. If a seller seems snippy about answering then move along. OH! But don't ask questions if you have no intention of buying; that's rude!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">Have you learned any lessons in your own shopping endeavors? Please share them in the comments!</span></b></div>

<img border="0" src="https://scontent-a-mia.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/10006641_10153585385902814_7894614384495108415_n.jpg?oh=fe092fc9a21bbacd97f03a7f1f1d5af8&oe=5533FF5C" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So I finally moved back into the dorm for the semester which means I can go back to regular posting! This week I got number #23, which is what influences my lolita style.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A lot of what inspires me is really what I see online through blogs and my tumblr feed. I know, I know "how unoriginal!" but I'm being honest! I like to follow a lot of different people from different styles to give me ideas for my own outfits. I follow fairy kei, gyaru, and cult party kei blogs as well as kawaii artists and pale blogs. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" src="https://41.media.tumblr.com/9d37f3e8c93d37beacce17e4b91aba1b/tumblr_nix42u79Cp1qaa70oo1_1280.jpg" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I like to reblog everything that inspires me onto my aesthetic tumblr. It lets me see everything I like visually in one place to give me some new ideas! (If you wanna follow it, go to <a href="http://opalcutie.tumblr.com/" target="_blank">OpalCutie</a>) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I also take a lot of inspiration from bloggers that I follow (all of which you can <a href="https://www.bloglovin.com/people/aleksj93-1035933/following" target="_blank">view here</a>). What better way than to see other beautiful babes rocking inspiring outfits?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I'm still developing my new style, but looking at other fabulous lolitas definitely help me pinpoint my own tastes and the journey of discovery is the funnest part anyways!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>So what's been influencing your style lately?</b></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is my first post in the Lolita 52 Challenge! I used random.org to choose a random number and I got #8: <b>Why don't I wear Lolita more often?</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
When I first started lolita, I used to wear sweet lolita in black colorways and gothic lolita once a week. I was absolutely in love with it! Over time I wore it less and less and less until I basically never wore it. My boyfriend had asked why that happened but I wasn't really sure. After a long time thinking about it, I realized that wearing all black wasn't really <i>me</i>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

I assumed it would be because I've dressed in dark alternative styles all my life, but in lolita it wasn't making me happy. When I first discovered lolita, it was sugary, pastel sweet lolita that reeled me in. But when I finally started, I played it safe and went with my comfort zone dressing in all black.</div>

Recently I sold all my black lolita pieces to start collecting pastel-colored dresses, and I finally have, but I don't have legwear to match so I can't wear basically any of my dresses yet. I'm gonna try really hard to get at least a pair of white thigh high socks soon so I can wear lolita often again and be happy!</div>

<div>
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit; line-height: 16.1200008392334px;">Because I just moved away from gothic/"bittersweet" (I hate that term!) <span style="background-color: transparent; font-weight: normal;">My biggest problem with sweet is that pretty much all the legwear I own is black and that's the color I am specifically working to move away from. In fact, it's the only reason I haven't worn proper sweet yet! I even own pink shoes now, but I can't wear any of my dresses because I don't have socks to match. <span style="background-color: transparent; font-weight: normal;">I wasn't able to accomplish this in 2014 because I literally have no non-black socks/tights... Why??? WHY??? I really have no idea how that happened, but I realized it in like late November. I'm going to try and get white legwear asap so I can finally dress in super cute sweet lolita!</span></h4>

Actually, my boyfriend and I commented on how good we were about this goal this year. It didn't really get done until the second half of the year, but we've gone to a new place or done a new thing in the city every single weekend! We did <a href="http://thecutelifestyle.blogspot.com/2014/10/rilakkuma-day-101114.html" target="_blank">Rilakkuma Day</a>, went to a Japanese street fair, saw <a href="http://thecutelifestyle.blogspot.com/2014/03/sebastian-masudas-colorful-rebellion.html" target="_blank">Sebastian Masuda's latest exhibition</a>, saw the annual Thompkins Park Dog Halloween Parade (200+ dogs in costumes, guys!) and so much more. I'm pretty curious about the Baby lucky pack. I loved last year but took too long contemplating the purchase (as usual haha). You can ever so slightly make out the prints that are edited out. Maybe if you're savvy enough you can guess what print it is (or maybe it's a special one just for the lucky pack? hmmm)</div>

I've never ordered one, and can't afford one at the moment, but if I had the money I'd wait for an Angelic Pretty lucky pack!</div>

<img border="0" src="https://31.media.tumblr.com/c374b54b713b664aea9ed4b6a71d4892/tumblr_nfb5yivkx91qaa70oo1_1280.png" /></div>
<i><span style="font-size: x-small;">Disclaimer: Let me start off by saying that I have no intention of scaring off people new to the fashion! We are always happy to help new people out. We just get tired of answering the same questions being asked every single day.</span></i><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
Welcome to the second installment of Newbie Lolita FAQ! I've decided to make this a series that will be posted weekly. I think it'll be great for new lolitas to have most of their basic questions asked in one place. Today I'll be talking about the negative rumors surrounding Bodyline and wigs: necessary or optional?<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj79YX_UowIJpQzA5Y2sZIt-KazOvB4balI5dl1xnpm7fxMpgqlX1klLWuEQVfsVgsaf3v_KmkkcEjL8DUTfhjCwABT-nlqYfArrW5uT5_vVHGxjsoNRcUt1BzdsBRBY3M2FZixE9qP1qId/s1600/1457750etteiy1lab.gif" style="text-align: center;" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">3. Will people hate me for just wearing Bodyline or Offbrand?</span></div>
<br />
Pretty much only new lolitas seem to spread this rumor about how all lolitas look down on Bodyline and offbrand clothing. How you can only be a "true" lolita by wearing brand and all these other silly remarks. Honestly, nobody cares where your clothes come from as long as they're styled nicely! Granted there are exceptions. Some elitist lolitas might judge you and look down on you, but those girls aren't nice and aren't worth befriending. Ignore them, the good news is that they're in the minority!<br />
<br />
Also, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJGxxeU7izY" target="_blank">look at Peachie</a>! She's my lolita idol and dresses in 99.99% offbrand.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-size: large;">4. Do I need to wear a wig?</span></div>
<br />
Wigs became extremely popular in the fashion once OTT (over the top) lolita came to life. They're worn in most of girls' coords today in both bright colors and natural styles. But before this became a thing, girls just wore their natural hair with their coordinates (outfits).<br />
<br />
If you don't want to wear a wig, that's completely ok! Nobody will tell you that you need one. Just keep in mind when you're wearing your natural hair with lolita to style it nicely. Lolita is about being dressed up, cute, and sometimes elegant. Frizzy, uncombed hair just thrown into a messy ponytail just won't look good and can ruin an otherwise perfect coord! Remember, lolita is all in the details.<br />
<br />
Need further assurance? Remember Misako pretty much always uses her natural hair!<br />

<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://31.media.tumblr.com/c374b54b713b664aea9ed4b6a71d4892/tumblr_nfb5yivkx91qaa70oo1_1280.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://31.media.tumblr.com/c374b54b713b664aea9ed4b6a71d4892/tumblr_nfb5yivkx91qaa70oo1_1280.png" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><i style="text-align: start;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Disclaimer: Let me start off by saying that I have no intention of scaring off people new to the fashion! We are always happy to help new people out. We just get tired of seeing the same questions being asked every single day.</span></i></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
Day in and day out, lolitas spend time online. It's just part of the hobby! You go online to look at sales, to check out so-and-so's new coord and to interact with the lolita community. Unfortunately we almost always also encounter that horrid question that's been answered at least 1,000 times and could have been answered with a quick Google search or by taking a look in the EGL memories. Although lolita <i>is</i> a fashion to have fun in, and no there aren't any <i>strict</i> rules, research is key to clearing up your doubts and familiarizing yourself with the fashion.<br />
<br />
If you're new and want to avoid being <i>that</i> person, here are some of the questions you might want to avoid asking (and their answers!)<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;">1. Do I really need a petticoat under this JSK, skirt, OP?</span></div>
<br />
Ok, granted this one can sometimes be tricky with the new silhouettes that have been popping up. I will say that 9/10 times, <b>yes you do need a petticoat</b>. In fact, sometimes you need to wear more than one to achieve the desired silhouette! A great way to tell by yourself if you need one or not is to compare how your dress looks on you [without a petti on] to how the dress looks in the stock picture.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://33.media.tumblr.com/a27d62c122c2777ca0ce853bf0a57226/tumblr_nfb3scWJ4P1r46edgo1_1280.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="429" src="https://33.media.tumblr.com/a27d62c122c2777ca0ce853bf0a57226/tumblr_nfb3scWJ4P1r46edgo1_1280.jpg" width="600" /></a></div>
<br />
See how poofy the dress looks in the stock picture and see how flat the dress looks on the girl? The stock pictures tend to show how the dress will look its best. I also recommend you invest in a good petti, because a bad quality petti will deflate quickly and make it look like you not wearing one at all<br />
<br />

<span style="font-size: x-large;">2. Is Bodyline a reliable seller? Is this dress from Bodyline good?</span></div>
<br />
This is one of those questions that a 2 second google search can answer for you. In the time it took you to post this question to Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, you could have had your answer! If you want to <span style="font-family: inherit;">know if a seller is reliable, look up some reviews. Type in "[seller name] review" into Google or if you want to know about a particular dress or pair of shoes, type "[item name] reviews". Want video reviews? Your items will arrive quicker and you get e-mail support from Bodyline. If you choose Airmail it's cheaper, but you get absolutely no support from Bodyline if something happens to the package. If you can't afford it, don't worry! I've been ordering for years using Airmail and so far none of my packages have been lost or stolen.<br />

<br />
Although I live in NYC and most people tend to ignore flamboyantly-dresses people, it's a city notorious for its tourists. Whenever I walk anywhere iconic in the city, I get bombarded with stares, whispers and sometimes even a direct comment. Sometimes they're funny like "Were you in a Broadway show?" and sometimes I get nice compliments like "Your dress is so cute!" but then there are people that just have no manners. Here are a few comments I often get and how I respond to them.<br />
<ol>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">"Why are you wearing that?"</span><br />I'm fairly ok with these questions when they come from a state of curiosity, but when you can hear the edge of sass in their voice... ohhhhh nooooo you did not just come over here to ask <i>that.</i><br /><br /><b>Sassy Response:</b> "I'm wearing this because I like it." or "Because I can." and proceed to put on your headphones. Sometimes a rude comment illicit a rude response.<br /><b>Polite Response: </b>"Oh this is just my style. I dress like this all the time." then smile, nod and go on with your day.<br /><div style="text-align: center;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9R_NWRo15HtnAOiJAbGnJEs4uyKf-8qy3YAZjCsZUMIp_RNV7K6kEHWQdtEbFWeMeRUrQmtCG3T0QIy317o6iw9DVZVHVp5sOO_kNx1PQ5BOmJlbxlHXvstxr5Yf0lo3r25CRi_fI535l/s1600/989369nkhwxrd6yq.gif" style="text-align: center;" /></div>
</li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">"How old are you?"</span><br />For some reason, dressing like this makes people think that it's ok to ask you anything about yourself. I get it, I'm dressed in an outfit that stands out but it doesn't really make me an open book either. If you wouldn't ask a regular old stranger, why on earth are you asking me?<br /><br /><b>Sassy Response:</b> "Old enough to tell you that the question you just asked is inappropriate."<br /><b>Polite Response:</b> [answer with your age if comfortable] or "I'm sorry but I don't feel comfortable with this question"<br /><div style="text-align: center;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9R_NWRo15HtnAOiJAbGnJEs4uyKf-8qy3YAZjCsZUMIp_RNV7K6kEHWQdtEbFWeMeRUrQmtCG3T0QIy317o6iw9DVZVHVp5sOO_kNx1PQ5BOmJlbxlHXvstxr5Yf0lo3r25CRi_fI535l/s1600/989369nkhwxrd6yq.gif" style="text-align: center;" /></div>
</li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">"Why would you dress up just to do [insert mundane activity]?"</span><br />You know, this one still confuses me when I get it. We're in NYC; everyone tends to dress up and show off the latest fashion trends regardless of whether they are out partying or grabbing groceries. Dressing up to do daily activities is not something that is specific to people who choose to dress differently. I'm sure you dress up sometimes to run errands so why are you asking me to justify doing it myself?<br /><br /><b>Sassy Response:</b> "Dressed up??? I just threw on whatever was lying around!"<br /><b>Polite Response:</b> "Oh same reason as any other person, I just felt like it!"<br /><div style="text-align: center;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9R_NWRo15HtnAOiJAbGnJEs4uyKf-8qy3YAZjCsZUMIp_RNV7K6kEHWQdtEbFWeMeRUrQmtCG3T0QIy317o6iw9DVZVHVp5sOO_kNx1PQ5BOmJlbxlHXvstxr5Yf0lo3r25CRi_fI535l/s1600/989369nkhwxrd6yq.gif" style="text-align: center;" /></div>
</li>
</ol>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The past few years at NYC have definitely toughened me up a bit with all the remarks that I've gotten, but I don't let them influence what I think about my style and neither should you! Our fashion is lovely, beautiful and interesting! As long as we know that and keep that in mind, nothing can put a damper on my opinion of lolita.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">So what comments have you gotten in your outfits?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">How did you respond?</span></div>

<br />
One thing, that I think not many people know, about me is that I love seasonal things! I love seasonal decor, food, accessories and clothing! It's why I love October-February: Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day. This is one of the biggest reasons I love this print! It's so wintery and cute. The print is very reminiscent of the infamous Day Dream Carnival, but that print style really was gorgeous. My favorite colorway, surprisingly enough, is not the pink one but the sax (light blue) colorway! And my favorite cut is the faux fur-lined jsk. It screams "winter wonderland" to me, which is great because I've been singing <i>Let it Snow</i> for the past few days...<br />
<br />
I decided to try and coord it in a way that makes me feel super wintery and warm and fuzzy and this is what I came up with!<br />
<br />
<div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 600px;">
<div style="position: relative;">
<a href="http://www.polyvore.com/sugar_dream_dome/set?.embedder=1975936&.svc=copypaste&id=140317485" target="_blank"><img alt="Sugar Dream Dome" border="0" src="http://cfc.polyvoreimg.com/cgi/img-set/.sig/vAyvB4HBpJPC5tIlTp5gg/cid/140317485/id/ou7RJ4hr5BGKcaUfnCklpg/size/c600x497.jpg" height="497" title="Sugar Dream Dome" width="600" /></a></div>
</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">So what do you think about AP's new print?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Love it, Hate it or Meh?</span></div>

They are the <i>it</i> brand for sweet lolitas everywhere. Lately they've been toning down their prints to feature more subdued colors and prints, a stark change from their usual sugary explosions.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://33.media.tumblr.com/77f2bdc28ef0b11802b96f7b67bfe9f3/tumblr_nemv4jxEAE1qaa70oo1_1280.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://33.media.tumblr.com/77f2bdc28ef0b11802b96f7b67bfe9f3/tumblr_nemv4jxEAE1qaa70oo1_1280.jpg" width="600" /></a></td></tr>

As most people in the fashion know, sweet lolita fashion has been all about girly pastels and youthful themes such as carnivals, candy, and toys since the release of <a href="http://hellolace.net/wardrobe/angelic-pretty/jsk/123/">Angelic Pretty's Sugary Carnival</a> in 2009. It changed the look of lolita fashion! It went from simple, solid-colored dresses to a boom of crazy, cute, colorful border prints. It's been the trend for the past 5 or so years. But is this changing?<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://38.media.tumblr.com/e4a55c0d0975957f50f834ba303f0a2d/tumblr_nemvymlTFN1qaa70oo1_1280.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://38.media.tumblr.com/e4a55c0d0975957f50f834ba303f0a2d/tumblr_nemvymlTFN1qaa70oo1_1280.jpg" width="600" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">From left to right: Back Ribbon OP (2002), Sugary Carnival (2009), Loyal Rosette (2014)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
As a marketing student that focuses on fashion, I've studied a lot on brands, their changes, and their reasons. From my observations, it seems that Angelic Pretty is trying to grow its style along with its target market. I suspect they've made this style change to adapt to the growing age of their customers. It has been pretty evident in the latest years that sweet lolitas are aging and are wanting more "age-appropriate" prints. <b>When I say this, don't take it the wrong way!</b> <b>I don't mean we are too old to dress colorfully.</b> What I mean is that a large number of lolitas want the fashion to grow with them so they can dress in a more mature light.<br />
<br />
Another thing is that designers themselves are artists. Artists' styles change over time and it is inevitable. It's possible that the artists were tired of sticking to that style for so long and wanted to experiment with a new style. It's common for designers to have an experimental phase! Sometimes the phase determines a new style direction for a brand and other times they go back to the old style.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9R_NWRo15HtnAOiJAbGnJEs4uyKf-8qy3YAZjCsZUMIp_RNV7K6kEHWQdtEbFWeMeRUrQmtCG3T0QIy317o6iw9DVZVHVp5sOO_kNx1PQ5BOmJlbxlHXvstxr5Yf0lo3r25CRi_fI535l/s1600/989369nkhwxrd6yq.gif" /></div>
A lot of sweet lolitas are happy with the change. They think it's fresh and a welcome change to the OTT Sweet overload of the past few years. Others feel that Angelic Pretty should stick to what had been working for so long and bring back their cute, pastel designs. People are even starting to think that they're doomed to buying secondhand sweet prints from here on out.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So what do you think of the new direction Angelic Pretty is taking?</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Do you like it or do you think they should go back to how they were?</span>Alekshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01808447594863206110noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1147846744674937175.post-11716107026241871952014-11-05T00:00:00.000-05:002015-03-03T19:31:57.669-05:00Bodyline's L322 JSK (in pink) Review~ Positive!<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

I had been eyeing this JSK for such a looooong time! After trying several black pieces and just not feeling 100% right, I took the plunge and bought myself a piece in pink (my favorite color). I am <i>so</i> happy I did!<br />

[insert opinions about jsk]<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Price: </span>$43 (or $29.26 using the <a href="http://lolita-tips.tumblr.com/post/44268042388/bodyline-tip-get-bodyline-orders-for-cheaper">Yen Trick</a>) <span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; line-height: 18.4799995422363px;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Good price for lolitas on a budget and for beginners.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Fabric: </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">This is one of Bodyline's cotton dresses so it's one of the nice dresses. It's not a lined dress but it's not super thin. It has decent weight to it (don't read as heavy!) The fabric is ever so slightly stretchy.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Print: </span>From the look of the site, I thought it was sort of like a cherry blossom print. It sort of is? Hahah I don't know, it's not exactly what I thought it'd be but the flowers are cute and small with little leaves and a white geometric dotted pattern throughout. It's nice and subtle, I like it!</li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Lace:</span> There's lace lined around the straps and top of the bodice. The lace is not scratchy at all, it's very soft, probably cotton!</li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Fit: </span>Super comfy JSK! Can easily wear it all day with no problem. </li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Details: </span>The three bows down the front are grosgrain ribbon. No detachable bow. Waist ties are not detachable. Zipper seems to be pretty good quality. Has a side zipper and shirring in the back with corset lacing but it's strung through delicate lace so I'm not sure that would last long (which is fine by me. I hate corset lacing in the back of a dress so I removed the satin ribbon)</li>
</ul>

<span style="font-size: large;">And here's a worn picture:</span></div>

I had been thinking recently about how cool it'd be to re-visit that post and see if I actually came through with the resolutions I made (which I usually don't haha). So let's see how I did!<br />
<br />
<center>
<span style="font-size: large; text-align: center;">1. Own white blouses and shoes.</span></center>
<center>
<b><span style="font-size: large; text-align: center;"><span style="color: red;">(half </span></span><span style="color: lime; font-size: large;">Success!)</span></b></center>

</div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; letter-spacing: normal; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; orphans: auto; padding: 6px; text-align: center; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; widows: auto; word-spacing: 0px;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><div style="margin: 0px;">

</td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="font-size: 13px; padding-top: 4px; text-align: center;"><div style="margin: 0px;">
Blouses: <a href="http://www.annahousefashion.com/detail.asp?catid=76395&subcatid=0&pdtid=647538&private=" target="_blank">1</a>, <a href="http://www.bodyline.co.jp/bodyline/showProduct2.asp?id=6288&pageNumber=2&pageStop=stop_1&noSubType=N" target="_blank">2</a>, <a href="http://www.bodyline.co.jp/bodyline/showProduct2.asp?id=5449&pageNumber=2&pageStop=stop_3&noSubType=N" target="_blank">3</a></div>

</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>I surprisingly achieved (half) of this!</b> I recently bought a white blouse since Bodyline had a free shipping offer. Funnily enough, I got the first short-sleeved blouse I featured in the post last year. It really convinced me that I do still love lolita! I just needed to see my JSKs worn with a white blouse. I didn't buy white shoes, I still really want those shoes I featured! I ordered <a href="http://www.bodyline.co.jp/bodyline/showProduct2.asp?id=4179&pageNumber=1&pageStop=stop_2&noSubType=N" target="_blank">deep pink shoes</a> but they're stuck in customs (for the past 9 days). I hope they get here! If not I'll re-order them for Christmas.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">2. Complete a full coord without using any black</span><br />
<span style="color: red; font-size: large;"><b>(Fail!)</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

I totally failed here. I just couldn't do this since I didn't own a white blouse until the very end and my pink shoes just haven't gotten here either and bleh! I was kind of sad I couldn't do this :( I'm hoping to definitely do this next year!<div>

Hahha this post is just looking good for me. No I didn't get a cute little apron either (which would've been such an easy, inexpensive addition) I still like aprons with lolita so I will try next year to get one! I'm thinking though that I want a half apron instead of a full one. They seem more toned down and versatile for lolita.</div>

I literally only posted <a href="http://thecutelifestyle.blogspot.com/search/label/coord" target="_blank">2 coords this year</a>. <span style="font-size: large; font-weight: bold;">2! </span>That's so bad hhahah. It's almost like I posted <b><i>less</i></b> after I made the resolution! And I hate <a href="http://thecutelifestyle.blogspot.com/2014/02/misako-aoki-in-nyc.html" target="_blank">the coord I wore to see Misako</a>. My coat had smooshed my petti so it got all flat and the black and pink coord was just too harsh and the blazer looked atrocious with the outfit ughhhh. But I'm learning... And that's a good reason to take more pictures, it lets me look back at my progress and figure out what worked and didn't work.</div>

So it looks like 2014 was a lolita resolution <span style="color: red; font-weight: bold;">FAIL. </span>Hahahaa not too shocked, but it was fun going back to see what 2013 Aleks wanted me to accomplish this year. Sorry to disappoint you 2013 Aleks!!</div>

<span style="font-size: large;">So were you able to keep <i>any</i> of your fashion-related resolutions this year?</span></div>

The title says it all, we have to choose a Halloween Story or Creature and create a coord based on it. I made a little list of things that came to mind, but they were all very typical:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqMiTRvXL_Rojtg1thyAP6hOX_K45Yix7IhG55sfqhQs4slu6eUcZa6U2z0qngt7BoFFwnHrQAEpNK6pQc7CLCS2GO_Ln-mXYYQUcBeK8SK75TwYCwuJ2XK2hsiLbfhEsaRlu86DAut69N/s1600/tumblr_lsq3zy79YB1qcfn0j.gif" /> </span>Witch</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqMiTRvXL_Rojtg1thyAP6hOX_K45Yix7IhG55sfqhQs4slu6eUcZa6U2z0qngt7BoFFwnHrQAEpNK6pQc7CLCS2GO_Ln-mXYYQUcBeK8SK75TwYCwuJ2XK2hsiLbfhEsaRlu86DAut69N/s1600/tumblr_lsq3zy79YB1qcfn0j.gif" /> Vampire</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqMiTRvXL_Rojtg1thyAP6hOX_K45Yix7IhG55sfqhQs4slu6eUcZa6U2z0qngt7BoFFwnHrQAEpNK6pQc7CLCS2GO_Ln-mXYYQUcBeK8SK75TwYCwuJ2XK2hsiLbfhEsaRlu86DAut69N/s1600/tumblr_lsq3zy79YB1qcfn0j.gif" /> Ghost</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqMiTRvXL_Rojtg1thyAP6hOX_K45Yix7IhG55sfqhQs4slu6eUcZa6U2z0qngt7BoFFwnHrQAEpNK6pQc7CLCS2GO_Ln-mXYYQUcBeK8SK75TwYCwuJ2XK2hsiLbfhEsaRlu86DAut69N/s1600/tumblr_lsq3zy79YB1qcfn0j.gif" />Frankenstein's monster...</div>
<br />
Mehhh, too typical and too overdone. (Well maybe not Frankenstein but I'll steer clear of that one anyways hahah). Instead I started thinking of grim Halloween stories my mom used to tell us when she went back to school to become an English teacher. One of my favorites was:<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: x-large;">The Woman With the Ribbon Around Her Neck</span></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 600px;">
<div style="position: relative;">
<a href="http://www.polyvore.com/woman_with_ribbon_around_her/set?.embedder=1975936&.svc=copypaste&id=138686309" target="_blank"><img alt="The Woman With the Ribbon Around Her Neck" border="0" src="http://cfc.polyvoreimg.com/cgi/img-set/.sig/wy8FSQ0clp8iBUQzMbhluA/cid/138686309/id/0h7QxmFd5BGBwxLE2__Y_w/size/c600x376.jpg" height="376" title="The Woman With the Ribbon Around Her Neck" width="600" /></a></div>
</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<small><a href="http://www.polyvore.com/woman_with_ribbon_around_her/set?.embedder=1975936&.svc=copypaste&id=138686309" target="_blank">The Woman With the Ribbon Around Her Neck</a> by <a href="http://aleksxoxo.polyvore.com/?.embedder=1975936&.svc=copypaste" target="_blank">aleksxoxo</a></small></div>
<div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 600px;">
<small></small>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
In my mind I pictured the story being set in a cold rainy village with a bit of an Edgar Allan Poe vibe to it. I picture her being an elegant, mysterious woman from the Victorian era (despite the story saying they went disco dancing at one point hahaha). This coord perfectly evokes the feeling I get when I read that short story.<br />
<br /></div>
</div>
<i><span style="font-size: large;">The story goes:</span></i><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
Once there was a man named Philip Games who was in love with an attractive young woman. In fact, you could say she was a very attractive, sweet with a slim build. She had one peculiar trait, however: she always wore a black velvet ribbon around her neck and was never seen without it. One day Games asked her to marry him. She said yes immediately as she was marriage-minded. “I’ll marry you on one condition,” she said. “Never touch the ribbon I wear around my neck.”...</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So Strange... Want to find out why she always wore that ribbon? <a href="http://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/the-woman-with-the-ribbon-around-her-neck" target="_blank">Finish reading the story here</a>!</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Those signs will haunt my dreams for a long time</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
I love sales. I love free shipping. Who doesn't right? Well... Let me just give you some info to keep in mind the next time a sale like this comes around.<br />
<br />
Ok so Bodyline, along with free shipping, <b>also took 10000 yen off all of their shoes</b>. So people were going craaaaazy over this sale! I myself had initially only ordered a blouse but then when the shoe sale was added I made a second order. I'm sure hundreds of other lolitas and cosplayers did the exact same haha.<br />
<br />
So what does that mean to you?<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>So many orders were made that it all started to back-up. People (including me) were <b><span style="color: red;">not receiving their tracking numbers by e-mail</span></b>. We had to find them manually through the site.</li>
<li>Another thing is that some people were <b><span style="color: red;">not even receiving the automatic order confirmation </span></b>since the system was so overloaded. This is where people were really freaking out.</li>
<li><span style="color: red;"><b>Bodyline was delayed and packages were being dropped off at the post office later and later.</b> <b>Not even EMS-paying customers were safe.</b></span> Some people paid extra for EMS shipping and received their packages at the same time as the AIR customers (that got shipping for free) If I had paid for EMS I would've been so mad!</li>
</ul>
<br />
My order was pretty much dropped off at the post office at around the time I expected it to (a week after I ordered) but I think it was because I ordered very early in the sale. The sale will run until Halloween but I placed my order almost as soon as the sale was announced.<br />
<br />
What was nightmare-ish for me was that I had no idea where one of my packages was. I hadn't gotten the tracking number. I eventually found it on their site's Tracking page but it wouldn't update! For 2 weeks I had no idea what was happening with my package. Suddenly one day it started working...<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://38.media.tumblr.com/f4e27876900f75cf13cafcd2e391cbcb/tumblr_ne29q2HpPz1rk3rvco1_500.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://38.media.tumblr.com/f4e27876900f75cf13cafcd2e391cbcb/tumblr_ne29q2HpPz1rk3rvco1_500.png" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My package has already been delivered (Sept 29) but the tracking doesn't say it has been delivered.<br />The other package however is still at JFK</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
To add onto all this chaos, poor Japan had a <a href="http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/tropical-storm-vongfong-slams/35196345" target="_blank">super typhoon called Vongfong</a> which delayed shipping even more. I finally received my package after a month of waiting (I usually get my packages in 2 weeks). On top of all this, Halloween is this week so October is one of their busiest times of the year. <b>Chaos.</b><br />
<b><br /></b>
In conclusion:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>During these sales, expect delays. EVERYONE will be taking advantage of these types of sales.</li>
<li>If your tracking hasn't been e-mailed to you, go to the Bodyline front page and look for the big red TRACKING button.</li>
<li>Bodyline will not answer your e-mails, even if you paid for EMS.</li>
</ul>

<br />
After wanting one for sooo long, I finally own a white blouse! This is one of Bodyline's cutest blouses and had been on my wishlist for the longest time. I took advantage of the free AIR shipping offer and received it today. (I'm only reviewing the blouse in this post, if you want a review on Bodyline, <a href="http://thecutelifestyle.blogspot.com/2013/10/bodylines-l329-jsk-review-positive.html#more" target="_blank">check this post</a>)<br />
<br />

<br />
The blouse comes in very wrinkled (as Bodyline's stuff usually does) so you have to steam or iron it before wearing, but I think that's ok! I didn't iron it for the photos in this review, but I hope you don't mind.<br />

<br />
The blouse is super cute and packed with adorable details! So let's get on with the review:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Price: </span>$43 (or $29.70 if you use the <a href="http://lolita-tips.tumblr.com/post/44268042388/bodyline-tip-get-bodyline-orders-for-cheaper" target="_blank">Yen Trick</a>) Good price for lolitas on a budget and for beginners.</li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Lace:</span> The lace on the sleeves has flowers on it and the lace on the collar has little strawberry slices on it. It's not soft, it's kinda scratchy but it is still pretty.</li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Fabric:</span> The fabric isn't soft (but it's not cotton so that was to be expected!) The site lists it as Polyester/Others. It's not uncomfortable though and I wouldn't say it's plastic-y either.The texture reminds me of some of my dad's button down shirts.</li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Sleeves:</span> The elastic part of the sleeve is not too tight on me but it's super scratchy where the lace is sewn onto the sleeve. It's pretty uncomfortable but I suspect it is an easy fix. I plan on sewing something on the inside of the sleeve to make it soft, like a strip of stretchy white jersey (t-shirt material). The bows and ruffles on the sleeves are a very cute touch that aren't really shown well on the website.</li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">The Collar:</span> The collar is BIG. I'm not used to it so my first impression was "oh god". But once I tried it on with a JSK I found that it looks really cute! If you're not a fan of big Peter Pan collars, stay away from this blouse.</li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Fit:</span> I bought a size medium. I have a 32" bust and 28.5" waist and I feel it's a very comfortable fit (even when wearing a t-shirt underneath to keep warm!)</li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Details:</span> The blouse has lots of nice details. The pearls on the collar are sewn well. All the ruffles on the blouse look really nice. The sleeves have bows on the sides. The buttons are puffy pearl hearts.</li>
</ul>
<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://38.media.tumblr.com/ee5705685cd54e6cbcacf6beaa621800/tumblr_ne489qCEyc1qaa70oo2_1280.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://38.media.tumblr.com/ee5705685cd54e6cbcacf6beaa621800/tumblr_ne489qCEyc1qaa70oo2_1280.jpg" width="370" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And here is the blouse worn under a JSK (<a href="http://www.bodyline.co.jp/bodyline/showProduct2.asp?id=7239&pageNumber=4&pageStop=stop_3&noSubType=N" target="_blank">Bodyline's L438</a> if you're wondering!)</div>
<div>

The blouse loses a point because of the lace and uncomfortable sleeves but other than that seems pretty nice to me! It has enough details to look interesting with a skirt and also looks super cute under a JSK. It's not cotton but not uncomfortable material. Lace is not soft, it is pretty scratchy. Good blouse for a new lolita or a lolita on a budget.</div>

I've never actually stopped to think about what my dream dresses are, so I thought it would be fun to compile a list of my all-time faves! And who knows? Maybe one day I'll own some of them! So here's my list of dream dresses (in no particular order):<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Memorial Cake JSK or skirt in pink or sax</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: left;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/foomer/8097326/112873/112873_original.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/foomer/8097326/112873/112873_original.jpg" height="213" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">(<a href="http://egl-comm-sales.livejournal.com/21195322.html" target="_blank">source</a>)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/236x/31/43/89/314389cb43041b014a614c1496338409.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/236x/31/43/89/314389cb43041b014a614c1496338409.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
One of the biggest reasons I love this print is because it reminds me of the illustration style in old Barbie products. I disliked Barbie dolls as a kid but loved products that had Barbie illustrations on them (bed sheets, shirts, plates, cups etc) Weird right? Well the love hasn't subsided and this really reminds me of the Barbie art style. I'd love it in pink, but sax would be lovely as well!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Powder Rose JSK in yellow</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://i.imgur.com/qRja9uk.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://i.imgur.com/qRja9uk.jpg" height="358" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">(<a href="http://egl.livejournal.com/19059845.html?thread=430693253" target="_blank">Source</a>)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Honestly, I want Powder Rose for the exact same reason I want Memorial Cake. It just really looks like the Barbie art design only takes it a notch higher in my heart because the roses look exactly like the roses used in the old Barbie art style. I like the yellow colorway because it brings a really nice warmth to the print that the others don't bring. I'd be head over heels if I could own this dress.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Vanilla Chan JSK in pink</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/pandasoppa/16746377/22746/original.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/pandasoppa/16746377/22746/original.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I really love how delicate, feminine, and adorable this print is. I especially love the neck detail; it's perfect! I can picture this perfectly paired with a pearl necklace and pink heels. I've been tempted to get the Dream of Lolita replica, but I think I'll hold out for the real deal. I'm a design graduate and I <b><i>know</i></b> the pain of someone stealing my design. It's quite heart-wrenching, trust me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Cherry Bunny JSK in pink</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lzosvzROHZ1qbuhibo1_500.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lzosvzROHZ1qbuhibo1_500.png" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
You know, I have no idea why so many people dislike this print! It's sooo adorable. It also helps that I am crazy about red and pink combinations and I also love cherry prints. This pairs those two loves and adds bunnies and apron-like ruffles on the sleeves! I would absolutely love to wear this with a nice peter pan collared blouse and a subtle red, glossy lip.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">So fess up, what's one dress that has been on your dream list since forever? How would you coord it?</span></div>

See, I haven't worn goth in about the same amount of time I hadn't worn lolita and I'm starting to miss it! But I've been seeing so many cute Halloween coords that it may just convince me to try my own hand at it! Regardless, this week's <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/lolitablogcarnival/" target="_blank">Lolita Blog Carnival</a> topic is your lolita Halloween and this is what I want to do!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;">What to Wear:</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://38.media.tumblr.com/4b1e4d8c65038242e6fe544cf7dbd809/tumblr_ndlt5jEVRM1rk3rvco1_500.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://38.media.tumblr.com/4b1e4d8c65038242e6fe544cf7dbd809/tumblr_ndlt5jEVRM1rk3rvco1_500.png" /></a></div>
<br />
If I could see the future, I wouldn't have sold my black jsk nor would I have thrown out my Jack Skellington purse and striped blazer because they would've made the perfect coord for this Halloween. Ughhhh! (<a href="http://36.media.tumblr.com/c98d098f6a5f74d3f15f69fd868faa0e/tumblr_mt3f5va1TP1rk3rvco1_400.jpg" target="_blank">This coord was what I would've worn</a>) But the coord above I think would be a cute substitute (you know, if I actually owned all those pieces haha!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;">What to Do:</span><br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://38.media.tumblr.com/8f2802bcae03cd26eef0df9daf0eea50/tumblr_ndlt5jEVRM1rk3rvco3_500.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://38.media.tumblr.com/8f2802bcae03cd26eef0df9daf0eea50/tumblr_ndlt5jEVRM1rk3rvco3_500.jpg" width="600" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">1. Pumpkin Carving:</span> I've never carved pumpkins before for Halloween. It's not really a tradition in Puerto Rico but since moving to the US I've been really wanting to carve one! The three pumpkins above inspired me along with Hello Batty's Angelic Pretty pumpkin (which I sadly can't find a picture of!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://31.media.tumblr.com/b7097418a8b4d83121f26581483926a6/tumblr_ndlt5jEVRM1rk3rvco2_500.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="516" src="https://31.media.tumblr.com/b7097418a8b4d83121f26581483926a6/tumblr_ndlt5jEVRM1rk3rvco2_500.png" width="600" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">2. Watch The Nightmare Before Christmas on the big screen!</span><br />
I've always wished for the opportunity to <a href="http://blogs.disney.com/insider/2014/10/02/happy-halloween-the-nightmare-before-christmas-to-come-back-to-theatres/" target="_blank">watch this movie in theaters</a>. I was so depressed when they played a 3D screening a few years back in some theaters here in the US. Well this year they're playing it again, ON HALLOWEEN NIGHT! So perfect! Best part? Tickets only cost me $6 each!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;">What to Eat:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://31.media.tumblr.com/30ffe54a7d65d741c70e6b3019182f72/tumblr_ndlulgIKZj1qaa70oo1_500.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://31.media.tumblr.com/30ffe54a7d65d741c70e6b3019182f72/tumblr_ndlulgIKZj1qaa70oo1_500.jpg" width="600" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Well it isn't Halloween without sweets now is it? I love baking but I've never made anything themed nor anything with pumpkin, which is strange because I love pumpkin flavored sweets and I love working with themes! I found these three delicious looking recipes that look especially delicious and I'm gonna try to at least bake one that day.</div>

</ul>
